Despite the fact that seasons have become an urban myth down here, Spring has been kicking it in Australia for a month now. I’ve accomplished more in the last month than I have all year and I’m not quite sure if that’s promising or merely depressing. In the last month I’ve had the first burn of summer, survived Hell’s Itch curtesy of said sunburn, clocked in a ridiculous amount of time with my best friend, taken my dog to the beach and updated my playlist. Is it weird that I’m most proud of the last achievement on that list? Strange or not I thought I’d share my ever updating Spring/Summer playlist.
|| I’m Not The Only One – Sam Smith // Another Man – Itch // Riptide – Vance Joy // Budapest – George Ezra // Don’t – Ed Sheeran // Californication – Red Hot Chilli Peppers // Little Talks – Of Monsters And Men // Superheroes – The Script // Mess Is Mine – Vance Joy // Bubbly – Colbie Caillat // Still Into You – Paramore // Kryptonite – 3 Doors Down // Long Hot Summer – Keith Urban // Stay High – Tove Lo // Rumour Has It – Adele // No Scrubs – TLC // Leaving It Up To You – George Ezra // Big Girls Don’t Cry – Fergie // Wherever You Will Go – The Calling // Land Of Opportunity – A Great Big World // King And Lionheart – Of Monsters And Men // Hit It – American Authors // Stay With Me – Sam Smith // Nutbush City Limits – Glee (Naya Rivera) // Did You Hear The Rain? – George Ezra // All We Are – OneRepublic // Give Me Love – Ed Sheeran // Fancy – Iggy Azalea // Footloose – Kenny Loggins // Jessie’s Girl – Rick Springfield // Free – Rudimental // Just Tonight – The Pretty Reckless // Howl – Florence And The Machine // Iris – Goo Goo Dolls // Cool Kids – Echosmith // Kiss A Girl – Keith Urban // Life Is A Highway – Rascall Flatts // All Those Pretty Lights – Andrew Belle // Running Up That Hill – Placebo // Love Song – Sara Bareilles // If I Die Young – The Band Perry ||
I like to mix my music up but I will confess that I’ve fallen in love with George Ezra’s Wanted On Voyage in the same way I fell head over heels for A Great Big World’s Is There Anybody Out There?. If you haven’t checked out either of these albums I implore you to, they are both magnificient.
If you’re “Down Under” like me what are your plans for Spring? I’m clocking in family time before my birthday in three days and working on my tan to avoid looking like a glow stick every time I wear less than a onesie. To everyone else in the world who isn’t preparing to be cooked alive this summer, what are you doing? Don’t be shy and drop a comment. What’s on your playlist? Who should I add to mine? What’s your craziest conspiracy theory?
